FAQs

Our most frequent questions and answers.

We’re excited to hear that you’re considering creating a cake with us!

We require between 3-4 weeks’ notice for all custom-made and ready to order cakes. However, we recommend booking with as much notice as possible as we make our cakes fresh and some weeks get booked out far in advance.

If you require a custom-made or ready to order cake with a shorter lead time, please  contact us and will do our best to accommodate you.

We also have a selection of cakes that can be picked up as early as tomorrow.

The final price of your cake depends on various factors, like serving numbers, serving size, the type of icing and the complexity of design.

Our wedding cakes can range from $500-$1500 plus (inc. GST).

We have a minimum order of $200 for custom-made cakes.

No, we’re cake artists and admire our fellow artists so we don’t copy other’s work.

But we do love it when you bring examples of other cakes you’ve seen as inspiration! We can use images of other designers’ creations as a guide and inspiration.

Yes! We absolutely love using fresh florals to decorate your cake and we have a whole range for inspiration.

We can create our own arrangement with flowers carefully selected from our local florist, Flowers at Kirribilli. Or we can work with your florist to match your bouquet or event style.

However, as many flowers are sprayed with pesticides, all stems need to be wired and wrapped before they are placed in the cake. We charge a small fee for arrangement and wiring, this will all be included in your quote.

The more material the better! We highly recommend bring any material you may have for you wedding or special occasion.

We can use invitations, colour swatches, vision boards, images of cake designs, florals and even your wedding dress to help us create something unique for your special day.

We make a lot more than just wedding cakes…although we do love weddings, engagements and anniversaries.

We have had years of experience creating all kinds of unique, one-of-a-kind cakes. From simple to luxurious wedding cakes, hand painted, hand carved and sculpted novelty cakes, cupcakes, decorated cookies and dessert buffets…there is nothing we can’t do.

Yes! We offer a cake tasting where you can try all 6 flavours we offer for $45.

When you are happy to proceed with your cake order, the cost of the cake tasting will be deducted from the price of your order over $600. Please head to our Contact page if you wish to book a cake tasting.

We are more than happy to work within the budget you have set aside for your cake. There are different styles and techniques we can use to reduce the cost if needed. We do have a minimum order of $200 for all custom-made cakes.

We do not charge a premium for wedding cakes and never will .

However, wedding cakes can end up being more expensive because customers need to feed more people, require more customisation, or select more intricate or time consuming designs.

For a standard sized wedding, we normally are able to put the required servings into the main cake.

If you are dreaming of a large and tall wedding cake, we can add tiers that are “dummy”. This means they’re foam inside, but decorated outside. It can be slightly cheaper because we don’t have to wait for the cake to cool before decorating it, or fortify the bottom layers to support the upper tiers.

But the majority of the cost of a cake is in the decorating. So it’s usually not much cheaper to use dummy tiers. For example, a four-tier cake with only two-tiers as real cake will be closer to the same price as a 4-tier cake all made from real cake.

Nevertheless, dummy tiers are sometimes necessary given the size of your venue. Smaller cakes in larger venue can sometimes get lost and look out of place, hence foam tiers may be added to make a visual impact.
